A Mickey Mouse-shaped solar farm has officially begun feeding renewable energy to Orlando’s Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Made up of 48,000 solar panels, the massive 22-acre project is Epcot’s largest solar investment to date and boasts a five-megawatt capacity—enough to power 820 homes. These panels power not only the resort, but also the surrounding hotels. The solar farm is part of Disney’s plan to reduce their carbon footprint by 50% by 2020.
